Lots of ways to get involved
There are lots of resources out there to get you started. The first place you should go to is the ARRL website and find a club. You do not need to join the ARRL for a club, but it will make it easier to get started. The members at the club can help you study and you can even go out on real field events to see what they do.
Once you get your license you can talk to your new club friends on the air or you can meet new ones. You can talk about radio interests or activities. Hams also provide public services, emergency communications, drills, parades, marathons and much more. You will always have something to do when you became an Ham Radio Operator.
